When they won't stop with the fussing,

Put 'em in the laundry basket and set 'em on top of the dryer while you dry blankets.

Almost there!

Ok, so I have made it to almost 36 weeks (the new week for counting the pregnancy begins on Fridays) and I am starting to understand why people get miserable. There's a baby kicking my stomach, the Braxton Hicks contractions are "awesome", and my face is swollen (along with everything else), as evidenced by the picture below.

But, I did finish my shrug that I've been working on. Wanna see?

And I needed something quick and painless to make after, so here's Justin's first Cupcake:

Picture of the Day

I went outside to feed the doggies and... knock knock knock (incessantly)... there was a woodpecker!

I think we need to meet some doggies.

This is Sweetie! She's the matriarch of the doggie family at 13 years old.

She likes to sleep in expensive chairs and expects you to scoot over on the couch when she gives you "the look".

She has had bad hips for a very long time, but you wouldn't be able to tell from this picture!

Luke is a young two years old I believe... and a mini Aussie too!
He is always up for a car ride and can require a moment to get to know you.
Oh, and did I mention. he barks like a girl?
more to come

Hospital Schmospital

So we went to the hospital again last night, but I am at 34 weeks now and this is apparently to be expected. So whatever. I just feel like if I don't force myself to take this stuff seriously, one day it's going to get too far along and I will miss my opportunity for PAIN RELIEF... which cannot happen. So I guess I will just wait for my water to break and away we go.

In two weeks I will be allowed to stop taking the terbutalene and hopefully Justin will be soon to follow. I can't wait to meet him and eat like a normal human again.

FO's

After much time, I have finally been able to obtain decent pictures of some finished objects, thanks to my mom. I will not let time pass like that again before pictures are taken! It nearly kills me!

These were for my mom's friends who are expecting to adopt in March sometime. They're having a boy too, so I figured I could always make more for Justin! They are super easy Saartje's Bootees. And FREE! (The pattern, not the yarn unfortunately.) The yarn is the luxurious Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino. Dang her for this beautiful yarn. Makes me want to be a millionare so I can buy however much I really want of it.

This is baby Justin's Going Home Hat. I love the nubby on the top! It's a modification of this pattern. And my first use of Berroco Comfort Sock. Yummy! Comfort is hard to refuse!

I LOVE this hat. It's Noro Silk Garden and the pattern is from 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders and I think it's just called Spiral Hat. But this yarn's colors are amazing. I could look at it all day.

Also from 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders is the Two-Hour Handbag. It's felted with Misti Alpaca Chunky which turned out looking like... an alpaca. Makes me want to take hair clippers to it. I will not be felting with this again unless I am knitting an alpaca. But the yarn itself is heavenly.

I will soon have a felted hedgehog to show that is intended to be a best friend for Justin until he figures out that it isn't real. ;-)

Bedrest

Well, now that I have been diagnosed with a risk of pre-term labor.....

I am home knitting up a storm. Since Tuesday, I have completed a pair of FiberTrends Felted Ballerina Slippers and the Spiral Hat from 101 Designer One-Skein Wonders. Now I'm working on the Two-Tone Shrug from Fitted Knits. I have become increasingly BORED with stockinette and only started this project for the result, not for the journey. It is tedious and not a lot of fun at the moment... as is sitting on my butt all day every day, but it will most likely never happen again until I retire, so I will make pancakes and the best of it.

Dang, I took a Benadryl last night and I am already awake.

Today is the day for North Main BBQ, which we call Green's after the owner. OMG talk about wonderful. Too bad starving myself until then isn't practical.
